I Believe in ME!

A Youth Empowerment Programme Focused on

Social and Emotional Learning

When you want your child to learn to swim, they go to swimming lessons. If it’s dancing, they’re into, or ART, they take dancing and ART classes. Why not classes to provide them with tools that will carry them through life? I Believe in ME is a programme with up to ten such classes

The intention of this programme is to show young people how powerful they are and that if they can use their imagination, believe in themselves, and follow a few simple steps every day, then they can create the life they want.

I Believe in Me – a 10-hour programme teaching children how to build self & social awareness, develop relationship skills, and understand self-management and responsibility.

I Believe in Me!  is a programme that promotes lifelong learning by encouraging children 5-15 to develop the following traits:

Show curiosity about human nature and how the world works.

Seek and value diversity.

Persist in seeking out new solutions.

Use their unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change.

Programme Overview

 

The curriculum is customised for ages 5-11 years old and 12+ 

The 7-10-hour programme sessions and their intended benefits are as follows:

Session #1 – Introduction 

Benefit – Get to know each other, the purpose of the programme, the mutual agreements, and what to expect from the trainer and the programme itself.

Session #2 – Thoughts Become Things

Benefit – To establish an understanding of the importance of choice in everything they do in life beginning with what they think about.

Session #3 – Meditation and Visualizations

Benefit – To provide an introduction to the concepts of meditation and visualisations to increase awareness of their own mind and its ability to shift their life experience through intention.

Session #4 – Beliefs

Benefit – To understand that this is where many of their thoughts and emotions come from and that they have the ability to shift to beliefs that are more agreeable to achieving their success in whatever area they choose.

Session #5 – Empowering Beliefs

Benefit – To understand that limiting beliefs are what often hold them back and show how easy it is to shift them into beliefs that work for them to achieve their goals and dreams

Session #6 – Emotions

Benefit – Learning the importance of honoring their emotions as life’s feedback system but also to show their ability to shift to ones that feel better when they are ready to move on.  This includes understanding that they have the ability to choose the emotions they want in life whenever they like as opposed to waiting for life to provide circumstances for them to react to.

Session #7 – Mandalas

Benefit – To have a quiet reflective experience with a form of art that shows connection and creates a sense of calm.  Acknowledge the importance of art therapy as a choice for managing their own emotions.

Session #8 – Dreams, Goals and Taking Action

Benefit – To show the importance of having dreams, designing goals, and following through with baby steps each day towards achievement.

Session #9 – Vision Boards and Community Puzzle

Benefit – Creating a physical object that becomes a daily reminder of their dreams, or a visual demonstrating the importance of each individual as a part of a whole, provides participants with a more relaxed opportunity for learning and development of these concepts.

Session #10 – Graduation Party

Benefit – Celebration is an important part of accomplishment. empowerment and having fun!

Norah Deay is an Irish author, editor and Certified Trainer of Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Creating Your Dream Life, the programme created by Mike Dooley of The Secret fame.

Living and working in London, The Netherlands and New Zealand, life has been at various times difficult, unhappy, exciting, joyful and above all, interesting.

Along the way, she had her son Jamie who now has three children of his own and she lives with her partner John, and her rescue dog Barney who she brought back from New Zealand.

Her Infinite Possibilities training opened up a world of, well, infinite possibility. Life became fun again and she found her passion in life – to share IP with others who have struggles in their lives. When the opportunity to become a trainer of I Believe in Me arose, she jumped at the chance to help children aged 5-15 create their own wonderful lives.
